Donna J. Butler, 62, of Denmark Township, died Tuesday morning, Oct. 29, 2013, at Ashtabula County Medical Center following a short illness.
She was born March 3, 1951, in Cleveland, the daughter of Donald and MaryAnn (Carmany) Shull.
In 1969 she graduated from Bedford High School and on Aug. 28, of that same year she married her sweetheart Roger W. Butler.
She has been a resident of Jefferson since 1976, coming from Chesterland. She formerly worked for General Electric and Patterson Fruit Farm, both in Chesterland, Glastics Corp. in Jefferson and Butler Dairy Farms where she was an active owner.
She was on the Ashtabula County Fair Board Woman's Auxiliary and she enjoyed the Falcon Follies and helping with the cast party. She loved bowling, reading, and her family most of all. Her grandchildren were her joy.
She is survived by her husband, Roger W. Butler; four children, James J. (Seanna) Butler, Janet L. (Randall) Harrington, Jody L. (Elmer) Anthony, Cindy J. Butler; six beautiful grandchildren, Craig, Justin, Josh, Jake Butler and Hailey and Cody Anthony; mother, MaryAnn Shull, all of Denmark Township.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Shull in 1998 and son Kenneth W. Butler in 1998.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 41 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with Rev. Jim Brehler officiating. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Pierpont.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 49 West Jefferson St., Jefferson.
