Edward A. Prijatel, 94, of Highland Heights, passed away June 24, 2012.

He was born July 4, 1917, in Cleveland.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He holds a patent for inventing a hydraulic system, which stabilizes fluid transfers at high altitudes for airplanes. He enjoyed mowing his lawn with his tractor for which he did until a couple of weeks ago.
Mr. Prijatel worked as an engineer.
Survivors are his wife, Emily (Svoboda); son, Dr. Robert (Laura); grandchildren, Nathaniel, Jonathan, Amy (Dr. Kent) Underwood and Julie (Bo) Dobbs; great-grandchildren, Annie, Rickie, Brennan and Bella; and daughter-in-law, Lynne Prijatel.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dr. Richard; and brothers, Vincent and Louis.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at The Cosic Funeral Home, 28890 Chardon Road, Willoughby Hills.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2012, at St. Paschal Baylon Church, 5384 Wilson Mills Road, Highland Heights. Interment will be in Mentor Cemetery.
