Services for Edward Benson Lawson Sr., 65, of Painesville Township, will be noon Thursday at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville. Friends and family will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. to noon Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Born March 6, 1948, in Painesville, Mr. Lawson passed away Dec. 15, 2013, at his home with his loving wife and family by his side.
Edward was a graduate of Riverside High School and a union laborer for Locals 496-310. He served many years as a steward. As a teenager, he worked with his father at the Lime Plant. In 1993, he moved to the Lake Erie shoreline to retire and enjoy the beauty of the lake.
Edward was a member of the former FOE in Painesville, and a former member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Painesville.
Survivors are his wife, Brenda (Kujansu); sons, Fred and Edward Lawson Jr.; daughters, Karen Carter, Belinda (Brett) Watkins and Nicole (James) Brody-Taylor; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Bob and Steve Lawson, and Richard (Kathy) Rogers; and sisters, Norma (John) Hobbs, Nancy Anderson, Judy (Bruce) Immonen and Linda Truman.
Edward was preceded in death by his son, Rusty Jennings; daughter, Kathy Budd; mother, Omega (McBride); father, Estill ""Doc"" Lawson; and brother, Ernie Lawson.
