Eileen Joy (Workman) Childers, born Aug. 29, 1942, passed away quietly at her home in Arizona on Feb. 17, 2013, surrounded by loving family after a long illness.
A lover of cooking, crafting and most important of all, family filled her life with enjoyment.
She was born in Creighton, W.Va., lived in Mentor and Thompson, before and finally moving to Arizona.
Eileen was a retired custodian of Kirtland Schools and Nina's Truck Stop.
She was the beloved mother of Veronica Lyndhurst (Curt) of Cornelius, N.C., Crystal Sullivan of Mentor, Carleen Glessner (William) of Huachuca City, Ariz., and Carl Sullivan (Alice) of Mentor; loving grandmother of eight; great-grandmother of seven; beloved sister of James Workman of Wilmington, N.C., Ernilda (Pooch) Petre of Tulsa, Okla., Joseph Workman of Mentor, John Workman of Mentor, and Marilyn Predovic of Tulsa, Okla.; and an aunt and great-aunt to many.
She was preceded in death by her father, Hob Workman; mother, Nina (Tamborino) Workman; sister, Mary Villeneuve; grandson, Matthew Barnes; and great-grandson, Shawn Matthew Todd Ross.
A private service is to be held in Arizona, and then will be laid to rest in Thompson Cemetery in Thompson in May 2013.
