Elbert "Pete" Smallwood, age 81, passed away March 13, 2012, at Geneva Hospital.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Germany.
Pete worked 25 years as a foreman for the Fairport Morton Salt Mines, working extensively with the Mine Rescue Team as a captain and trainer.
Survivors are his wife, Evelyn; children, Bruce (Sharon), Daniel (Julie), Susan (Don) Branek and Nancy (Richard) Weiner; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Douglas (Judy), and Robert (Laurie); and sister, Joyce (Steve) Hammock.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William; and stepmother, Gladys Smallwood.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, at Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman St., Geneva.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012, at New Life Assembly, 1961 La Fever Road, Geneva. The Rev. Harry Pishcura will be officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Geneva.
