Emery Braessler Obituary
Mr. Braessler passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011, at Lake West Medical Center.
Born May 19, 1926, in Cleveland, he lived for several years in Cleveland Heights and has lived in the Willoughby-Willoughby Hills area for more than 60 years.
He was a World War II United States Army veteran, a member of Willoughby Lodge 302 Free and Accepted Masons, the Al Koran Shrine Valley of Cleveland and the Legion of Honor. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed taking care of his dogs.
Mr. Braessler was employed as a millwright at the former Chase Brass and Copper Company in Euclid, retiring in 1991 after more than 40 years of service.
Survivors are his sons, Richard (Tina) Braessler of Westerville and Glen (Colleen) Braessler of Mantua; grandchildren, Joe, Andrea, Karla, Jim (fiancee, Stacey) and Sarah.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Donna M. Braessler, who passed away June 18, 2004. His parents, Emery G. Sr. and Rose (Dupal) Braessler, brother, Norman, and sister, Jane, are also deceased.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 or 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. Masonic services will be conducted by the brethren of Willoughby Lodge 302 at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Final resting place will be in Knollwood Cemetery, Mayfield Heights.
The family encourages contributions to Shriners' Hospitals for Children, c/o Al Koran Shrine, 1000 E. Edgerton Road, Broadview Heights, OH 44147.
