Eugene Robbins, 87, of Geneva, passed away Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township.
Born July 8, 1926, in Painesville, he was the son of Ora and Margaret (Herroon) Robbins.
Eugene married Beatrice Higginbotham on June 18, 1949, in Willoughby.
Eugene was a graduate of Harvey High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as well as retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
Favorite pastimes of Eugene were going to the Madison Senior Center, and playing pool with friends and family.
He is survived by his three daughters, Lynn Jaeger of Geneva, Sherry (Gary) Snyder of Madison and Lori (Jim) Merrill of Perry; two sons, Mark Robbins of Geneva and Scott Robbins of Ashtabula; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his cat, Sassy.
Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice; son, Dale; grandson, Nate; his parents; brother, Bob; and sister, Margaret.
Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison, where a memorial service celebrating Eugene's life will immediately follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. William Alvey officiating.
Final resting place will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Painesville.
