Funeral Mass for Hilda Prpic, 84, of Cleveland will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012, at St. Paul Croatian Church, 1369 E. 40th St., Cleveland.

Mrs. Prpic passed away March 20, 2012.
She was born Sept. 14, 1927, in Slovenia.
Hilda came to the U.S. in 1953, and together with her husband, George Prpic, left a rich legacy of poetry, writings, art and ideology. She was published in a number of national forums and co-authored books with George and translated poetry by Solzhenitsyn, Tomcic, Balantic, Kestercanek, and others.
She was an accomplished poet herself. Hilda's great joys were her family, her gardening and her involvement with her church and community.
She is survived by her children, Frank (Daneta) and Maya Chaille (Steve); and grandsons, James Hegedus Jr. and Jack Ryan Chaille.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Golub Funeral Home, 4703 Superior Ave., Cleveland. A private interment will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated in her memory to the Slovene Home for the Aged, 18621 Neff Road, Cleveland, OH 44119.
