Celebration of life services for James W. ""Bill"" Maxwell, 66, of Willoughby Hills, will be held 5:30 p.m. Sunday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St., (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor. Military honors conducted by the U.S.
will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Maxwell passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights with his family at his side.
Born March 29, 1946, in Cleveland, he had been a Lake County resident for the past 33 years, living in Mentor before moving to Willoughby Hills 21 years ago.
Bill was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam. He enjoyed fishing, sailing, hunting and riding his Harley.
He was the beloved husband of 33 years to Carol M. (Arndt) Maxwell; loving father of Paul Maxwell, Brian (Andrea Baker) Maxwell and Tony (Nicole O'Bryan) Maxwell; stepfather of Daniel Salupo and Donald (Gina) Salupo; cherished grandfather of Karolynn Maxwell, Ava Maxwell, Olivia Salupo, Gianna Salupo, Dominic Salupo and Joseph Salupo; son of Wanda (Paul) Mikula; brother of Patricia (Rob) Polacek; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Maxwell; and brother, David Maxwell.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his name be made to Wounded Warriors, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
