Funeral Mass for Jennie (Kowalski) Sprafka, 96, of Willoughby, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor.
Mrs. Sprafka passed away Monday, April 22, 2013, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center, LakeMed.
She was born April 7, 1917, in Cleveland.
Jennie was a member of St. John Vianney Church and was very proud of being a Blue Star Mother.
She was the loving mother of Joseph (Dianne) Sprafka of Willowick, Wally (Carolyn) Sprafka of Perry Township, Joan (Harry) Tabor of Concord Township and Charles (Barbara) Sprafka of Concord Township; cherished grandmother of 13; great-grandmother of 17; great-great-grandmother of five; sister of Dolores (Wayne) Taylor of Port Charlotte, Fla.; and aunt of many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Julius S. "Jake" Sprafka; parents, Leo and Stella (Schykofski) Kowalski; and siblings, Joseph Kowalski, Walter Kowalski, Charles McGlynn, Leo Kowalski, Mary Cummins and Frances Zitson.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be in Willoughby Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
