John Pianecki, 80, of Kirtland, passed away April 14, 2013, at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township.
Born in Cleveland, Mr. Pianecki was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean War and a Purple Heart receipient.
He was a member of the V.F.W., P.L.A.V., and American Legion.
Mr. Pianecki had been employed as a machinist for Crescent Metal products.
Survivors are his sister, Viki (Carlysle) Tucker; and nephew, Joseph Pianecki.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian (nee Mlakar); and brother, Joseph.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at St. Mary Church, 15519 Holmes Road, Cleveland. Funeral Mass will immediately follow at 10 a.m. The Rev. John Kumse will be the officiant.
Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Mary Church would be appreciated.
