Jonathan "Jon" Andreas Obituary
Jonathan "Jon" Andreas, age 42, and a lifelong Mentor resident, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township, after a sudden illness.
He was born Jan. 1, 1971, in Chardon.
Jon was a graduate of Mentor High School and attended Kent State University. He was an extremely talented mechanic who enjoyed working on cars, and was an avid sports fan, the Steelers in particular. He had a heart of gold and loved nature and all animals. He had a sensitive soul and was dearly loved by his family.
Survivors include his mother, Jean A. Joyce of Mentor; siblings, Frederick (Beverly Austin) Andreas of Euclid, Patricia (Thomas) Agostini of Gloucester, Mass., and Karen (Anthony) Podojil of Painesville Township; nephews, Bruce Andreas, Joshua Driver, Bryan, Andrew and Christopher Podojil; niece, Kristin Driver; uncles and aunts, David (Earle) Bobbitt, Lee (Carolynne) Bobbitt, Donald (Lanie) Bobbitt, Deborah (Keith) Achor, Lois (David) Hall and Joyce Mumford; cousins; and dear extended family including Marie Andreas, the Anthony Podojil family (Mrs. Kathy Podojil, David, Ron and family), Michele (Steve) Brewer, Andrea (Roy) Tolson, Cynthia (James) Cardinal and Dolly (Robert) Schaefer.
Preceding Jonathan in death are his father, Dr. Bruce F. Andreas; grandparents, Dr. Frederick and Edna Andreas and Mr. Howard and Marie Bobbitt; stepfather, Mr. Allen E. Joyce; aunt, Barbara Hook; and uncle, James Bobbitt.
A celebration of Jonathan's life will be held Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060, with internment following at Mentor Cemetery.
The family will receive friends and relatives for a reception following at 3 p.m. in the Reception Center on the Brunner Campus.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions may be made in his name to the Lake County Humane Society, 7564 Tyler Blvd., Mentor, OH 44060.
