Margaret (Mochan) Hanobik, 92, of Munson Township, passed away Aug. 21, 2012, at Holly Hill Healthcare Community in Newbury Township.
She was born Oct. 16, 1919, in West Winfield, Pa., and lived in Euclid before moving to Chardon Township in 1956.
Mrs. Hanobik worked as an assembler at the former L.F.E. Corporation in Chester Township until her retirement after 13 years of service.
Margaret Mochan married John W. Hanobik May 24, 1947, in Cleveland. He preceded her in death Sept. 28, 1999.
Mrs. Hanobik was a member of the L.F.E. Retirees Club, the Fairport Harbor Slovenian Club, Knights of Columbus Isabella Auxiliary Post 3304, and served as auxiliary treasurer for seven years. She also belonged to the Senior Ladies Bowling Team. During World War II, she served as an Air Raid Warden, however, she never had to use it. She enjoyed crafts, baking and playing cards.
Survivors are her son, Ronald (Michele L.) Hanobik of Chardon Township; daughter, Diane M. (Alan) Moore of Munson Township; grandchildren, Scott (Lisa) Moore of Mentor, Stephen (Mary) Moore of Concord Township, Shawn (Kelli) Moore of Concord Township, Jonathan and Rebecca Hanobik of Chardon Township; and great-grandchildren, Alex, Lyla, Justin and one expected in November.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Hanobik; son, Donald Hanobik; parents, Anthony and Agnes (nee Spolar) Mochan; one brother; and one sister.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at The Church of St. Mary, 401 North St., Chardon. The Rev. Dan Redmond of the church will officiate.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., (Route 44, 500 feet south of Route 6/Chardon Square), Chardon. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
