Funeral Mass for Marla Rae (nee Lauden) Slapnicker, 75, of Mentor, will be 1 p.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.

Mrs. Slapnicker passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.
Born Sept. 10, 1937, in Jackson, Mich., she had lived in Trumbull County before moving to Lake County four years ago, living in Mentor.
She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Mentor, Loyal Order of Moose, and a former member of the Horseman's Association. In her leisure time, she loved and enjoyed baking.
She was the beloved wife of 57 years to Paul Slapnicker; loving mother of Don (Denise) Slapnicker of Eastlake, Tom (Danielle) Slapnicker of Concord Township, Bob (Lisa) Slapnicker of Willowick and Bill (Dezi) Slapnicker of Willoughby; and the cherished grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt of many.
She was preceded in death by her children, Paul Slapnicker Jr. and Laurie Slapnicker; parents, Elmer H. and Ilie Irene (nee Wisrie) Lauden; and brother, James Lauden.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Monday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name are suggested to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
