Norbert Peter Lehane, 89, of Mentor, formerly of Willoughby Hills, passed away at Salida Woods, on Sunday, April 28, 2013.
He was June 1, 1923, in Cleveland.
Norbert was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, who fought in Normandy and received five bronze stars. He loved traveling and football. He was a gentleman, very faithful and always had a neat appearance.
He was a retired Cleveland firefighter and also a photographer.
Norbert is survived by his son Paul, of Willoughby Hills; daughters, Mary Karen ""Karey"" (Patrick) of Mentor, Maureen of Baltimore, Md., Kathleen Urbanek of Solon, Colleen (Patrick) Gallagher of Willoughby Hills; grandchildren, Patrick (Beth) and Colleen Gilmour, Kara, Erin and Daniel Urbanek, Timothy (Katie), Meghan and Joseph Gallagher; and great-grandchildren, Ryan and Kaylee. He also was an uncle and great-uncle of many.
He was preceded in death by is wife of 58 years, Donna M. (nee Bonnay); son, Norbert Brian; parents, John and Mary (nee Carroll); brothers, the Rev. Fr. Joseph B. Lehane, John, Kevin and Edward Lehane; and sister, Mary Mullally.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 37932 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, Ohio. Burial with military honors will follow in All Souls Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of Willoughby Hills, 28890 Chardon Road (between Bishop Road and Route 91).
