P. Angelo Castello, 93, of Columbus, died early Sept. 16, 2013, at Claremont Retirement Village, in northwest Columbus.

Angelo was a kind, humble and gentle man who loved his family above everything else.

Angelo served as a medic in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a lifetime member of several service organizations, notably the Knights of Columbus, the Lions Club and the Fairport Men's Civic Club.
Angelo was preceded in death by his wife, Antoinette D'Ascanio Castello.

He will be missed by his grandchildren, Natalie (Kyle) Hildebrandt of Columbus, Shellie (Andrew) Smith of Worthington, Libby Rego of Los Angeles, Calif., and Sara (Allan Gomez) Rego; and great-grandchildren, Eli Hildebrandt of Columbus, Zoey Rego-Martinez and Adler Gomez of Whittier, Calif., Evan Rego of Fairport Harbor, Lauren Serota of Austin, Texas and Nathan Serota of Honolulu, Hawaii.
