Phyllis Close Obituary

Phyllis M. Close, age 86, a resident of Madison, passed away Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at Riverside Hospital in Columbus.
She was born Nov. 19, 1924, in Madison, to George and Jessie (Taylor) Balch.
She married Blair Close July 5, 1945, in Geneva, Ohio.
Phyllis was a graduate of Madison High School.
Mrs. Close formerly worked as a clerk at Carlisle's Department Store and also as a beautician.
She liked to volunteer, particularly for Meals on Wheels and at Geneva Hospital.
She is survived by her daughter, Doreen Close of Pickerington; son, Dennis Close of Madison; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Janet Moore of Geneva.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Blair; son David; parents; her sisters, Jean Balch and Ann Znidarsic; and brother, William Balch.
Friends will be received from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, February 25, at the Behm Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 26 River St., Madison.
The funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Final resting place will be at Fairview Cemetery in Madison.

Dear Family, " Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Phyllis will be greatly missed." We will miss her warm eyes and sweet smile. Phyllis was like a Grandma to our son Matthew, he was only one yr. old when we took over as managers at Village green Townhomes.We will cherish our memories of this sweet lady...
