Richard E. Dreis Obituary
Funeral Mass for Richard E. Dreis, 74, of Wickliffe, will be 4 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 29840 Euclid Ave., in Wickliffe.
Mr. Dreis passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at home with his family at his side.
Born Aug. 16, 1938, in Cleveland, he had been a Lake County resident for the past 50 years, living in Wickliffe.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Wickliffe, an active participant of the Y.M.C.A., and a former member of the U.S. Marine Reserves. In his leisure time, he enjoyed golfing, gardening, hunting, and the outdoors. He loved his dog "Daisy," but the most important thing in his life was being with his grandchildren.
Mr. Dreis worked at Chandler Products in Euclid for more than 40 years, where he worked as a tool and die supervisor before retiring in 2004.
He was the beloved husband of 50 years to Jean A. (nee Potokar) Dreis; loving father of Richard E. Dreis Jr. of Austinburg, Michael E. (Mary Alice) Dreis of Willoughby and Mark E. (Susi) Dreis of Jefferson; cherished grandfather of Destiny, Matthew, Ava, Melissa, Jessica, Madeline and Nicholas; and uncle of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Hattie (nee Yurkschott) Dreis; and siblings, Ramon Dreis, Robert Dreis and Ralph Dreis.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be private.
