Richard Hanslik Obituary
Born Sept. 25, 1942, in Cleveland, he had lived in Highland Heights and Willoughby prior to moving to Chardon five years ago.
He was a U.S. Army veteran. His hobbies included golfing, gardening and boating.
Mr. Hanslik worked as a sales agent/owner from 1990-2005 of Lake County Insurance Agency in Willoughby. Prior to that, he was a Lieutenant for the Highland Heights Police Department from 1968 to 1978, and a security audit manager from 1978 to 1990 at Apcoa.
Survivors are his brother, Robert (Mary Lou) Hanslik; eight nieces and nephews; and 19 great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Elizabeth and Russell Hanslik; and sister, Barbara Asuma.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at The Cosic Funeral Home, 28890 Chardon Road, Willoughby Hills.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at Divine Word Church, 8100 Eagle Road, Kirtland. Fr. David Woost will officiate the Mass. Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.

To the family of Richard Hanslik,
I knew Dick from 1976-1980 while he was head of security at the Front Row Theater, and always felt a great respect for him.
Thirty years have gone by and by chance at the end of April 2011 he came back into my mind and I couldn't stop thinking and wondering what happened to him.
Finally on July 1st, I met someone in Florida who knew him, only to find out the devastating news.
Had I known he was ill, I'd have come back to Ohio to see and talk to him one last time.
My heart goes out to you and to him. I will never forget him. I will pray for him and for you, his family.

Robert and Family,
I am sad to hear of Dick's passing, he was my manager @ APCOA, INC. in the security department, and I remember how hard it was for him to tell me that my job had been phased out, it was really from his heart, that's what made me cry, and I will all way's remember Dick. My sympathies to Dick's family, he was a Good Guy!!

It was with great sadness that I heard of Dick's death. I will always remember the family get togethers at Uncle Russell's house and my grandmother's house on Highland Road. I will keep all of our family in my thoughts and prayers always.

Dear Robert and family, We lived next door to Dick when he lived in Willoughby. Had many good times with him. My sympathy goes out to you and yours. I am sure he will be missed.

Robert, my deepest sympathy on the loss of your brother Dick. I worked with Dick at the Highland Heights Police Department for several years. He was highly respected by all who served with him as well as the citizens he protected. He was a true friend. He lived his young life to the fullest. I will remember him forever.
