Robert J. Hagara, age 76, of Painesville Township, passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at his residence.
He was born March 21, 1936, in Cleveland.
Mr. Hagara worked at Active Plumbing in Painesville and Willoughby from 1959, until his retirement in 2001.
His passion was watching his grandchildren in all their sporting events and band performances. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and his Wednesday morning breakfast with his condo buddies as well as his monthly card games with his high school friends.
Survivors are his wife, Judith; children, Robert "Scott" (Diane) Hagara of Mentor, Steven Hagara of Dallas, Texas, Pamela (Michael) Foley of Painesville Township, and Patricia (Sally Fischer) Hagara of Broomfield, Colo.; grandchildren, Emily, Julia, Hope and Martin; sister, Shirley (William) Snyder of Lyndhurst; and sister-in-law, Lucy Hagara of Mentor. He is also survived by many other loving family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Mary Hagara; brother, Leslie Hagara Jr.; and sister, Edith Stropki.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at Mentor Cemetery in Mentor.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr. Hagara's memory to the Fairport Harbor Senior Citizen Center, 1380 East St., Fairport Harbor, OH 44077.
