Mr. Garris passed away Dec. 11, 2013, at Hospice House.
Born Oct. 2, 1956, in Cleveland, Bob was a resident of Willoughby Hills since his move from Wickliffe in 1997. A member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church for 30 years, he was also active in CYO Basketball, the parish festival and the Knights of Columbus Wickliffe Council 5404. He graduated from Bedford High School and eventually became the owner/operator of a lawn fertilization company.
In his free time, Bob enjoyed fishing, watching Cleveland sports and listening to Elvis Presley. He was an avid Buckeye fan. His family gave him more pleasure than anything else, and they will remember him as a people person with a good sense of humor.
Survivors are his wife of 31 years, Jennifer (nee Medsker); sons, Robert F. (Vivien) of Wickliffe and Eric S. of Willoughby Hills; daughter, Carolyn A. (Bret) Miller of Ashland; grandchild, Robby Elvis; parents, Norbert P. and Rhita C. (nee Widlak) of Sagamore Hills; brothers, twins Paul (Maureen) of Aurora and Phillip of Michigan, and Gregory of Akron and Christopher of Hinkley; and sister, Donna of Middleburg Heights. Bob was also the dear uncle and friend of many.
Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Bob from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of Willoughby Hills, 28890 Chardon Road (between Bishop Road and Route 91).
Family suggests contributions may be made in Bob's memory to Diocese of Cleveland Catholic Charities, 1404 East Ninth St., 8th Floor, Cleveland, OH 44114.
