Robert W. Swiney Sr. Obituary
Robert W. Swiney Sr., 38, of Eastlake and formerly of Mentor, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at his home.
Born March 4, 1975, in Cleveland, Bob had been a general foreman for SMP Welding in Mentor for the past year and a half. Prior to that, he worked as a general foreman for Engineered Endeavors in Newbury for 17 years.
Bob was a huge fisherman. He was the first mate on his dad's fishing charter called "Fishful Thinking Charters". They had the opportunity to charter the crew from "Time Bandit" from the TV show "The Deadliest Catch." He also enjoyed deer hunting.
Robert is survived by his wife, Erica A. (Stanberry) Swiney; twin children, Robert W. Swiney Jr. and Rachel M. Swiney, both of Eastlake; parents, Robert L. and Diane Swiney of Mentor; brother, Timothy A. (Kelley) Swiney of Columbus; nephews, Wally and Brayden; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Bob was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
