Rose (Schneider) Mervar, age 92, of Mentor-on-the-Lake for the past nine years, and formerly of Richmond Heights, died Sunday, March 11, 2012, at home surrounded by her family.

She was born April 17, 1919, in Cleveland.
Mrs. Mervar was a homemaker and attended St. John Vianney Church in Mentor. Prior to that, she attended the former St. Felictas in Euclid.
Survivors include her sons, Michael (Jeanne) Mervar of Mentor, James (Patricia "Pat") Mervar of Concord Township and Joseph (Jeanette) Mervar of Mentor; six grandchildren, Kimberly DiCapo, Kathy Mervar, Karolyn (Ken) Osborne, James (Lori) Mervar Jr. Barbara Kuzeppa and Amy (Justin) Haverkamp; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Katheryn "Kay" Walters of Perry and Caroline "Carol" Unetich of Painesville; and brother, George (Lonnie) Schneider of The Villages, Fla.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph B. Mervar; and brother, Chuck Schneider.
A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
