Shawn A. Wilson Obituary
Funeral Mass for Shawn A. Wilson, 50, of Mentor-on-the-Lake, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Fr. Michael Troha will officiate the Mass.
Mr. Wilson died Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.
Born Dec. 10, 1961, in Cleveland, he had been a lifetime Lake County resident living the majority of his time in Willoughby.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Willoughby, where he was also a member of the Holy Name Society, member of the Oktoberfest Committee and girl's track coach at Immaculate Conception School. He was a 1980 graduate of Willoughby South High School and a graduate of John Carroll University with a degree in finance. Shawn was also a very active blood donor with the American Red Cross. He was a very loving father and devoted son. Shawn overcame many adversities and physical disabilities to become the strong man that he was.
Shawn worked for the city of Willoughby in the finance department and for the service department. He formerly worked for the Mullinax Car Organization in Wickliffe in their finance department.
He was the loving father of Benjamin E. Wilson and Emily G. Wilson of Mentor-on-the-Lake; dear son of Edward G. and Sandra M. (nee Adams) Wilson of Eastlake; devoted brother of Edward Gary (Marlene) Wilson of Willoughby, Sharon Marie (Jay) Seaton of Avon Lake, Thomas Michael (Debbie) Wilson of Mentor and Diane M. (Bill) Matuszak of Willoughby; seven nieces and nephews; and many cousins.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be private.
Donations in Shawn's name may be made in care of the family for the children's education.
