Stephen G. “Steve Montana” Martony Stephen G. “Steve Montana” Martony, 69, of Madison, passed away Friday, April 5, 2013, at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. Born April 24, 1943, in Cleveland, he had been a lifelong resident of Lake County. Stephen loved fishing, gardening, playing his guitar and writing songs. He also enjoyed sports, being an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians. Mr. Martony was the beloved husband of 48 years to Diana J. (nee Phillips) Martony; loving father of Cheryl L. (Calvin) Phillips and Timothy W. Perkins; cherished grandfather of Davina M. (Donald) Boatman and Benjamin D. Ritz; brother of Suzanne E. Martony, Martha E. Woeste, Ted J. Martony, Linda L. Feher and Don E. (Cindi) Martony; and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Florence (nee Krank) Martony; sister, Irma J. Martony; and brother-in-law, Fred Woeste. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor.
