Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas D. Foster, 58, of Wickliffe, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at St. Noel Catholic Church, 35200 Chardon Road, Willoughby Hills. Fr. George Smiga will officiate. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
Mr. Foster passed away Aug. 18, 2013, in Wickliffe.
He was born Nov. 2, 1954, in Cleveland.
Tom was a cardiovascular assistant/RN at Hillcrest Hospital for 25 years after working as a paramedic and firefighter in Wickliffe for 11 years. A graduate of Wickliffe High School, Tom got his bachelor of science degree from Cleveland State University and medical degree at American University of the Caribbean. He was a resident of Wickliffe for 30 years after moving from Willoughby and a member of St. Noel Catholic Church and the Willoughby Masonic Lodge. Tom enjoyed collecting trains, listening to classical music and loved visiting Disney World. He will be fondly remembered as a generous, kind, loving husband and a dedicated father who loved life.
Survivors are his wife of 32 years, Leigh A. (nee Wallauz); son, Thomas E.; daughter, Sarah; mother, Martha A. (nee Woodley); brother, Todd (Mary); sister, Ellen Reilly (Frank); brother-in-law, Glenn (Patricia) Wallauz; nieces and nephews, Sherry and Joseph Mohner, Annie and Cliffton Harstine, Shawn Reilly, Samantha Wallauz, and Jake and Kelly Foster; great-uncle to Reilly, William and Rose; goddaughters, Lindsey Sloe and Mia Maggliazzo; and a dear friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert C.
Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate life of Tom from 2 to 5 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of Willoughby Hills, 28890 Chardon Road (between Bishop Road & Rt. 91).
Family suggests contributions may be made to Tom's memory to the , 1689 E. 115th St., Cleveland, OH 44106.
