Thomas Emil Pursch Obituary
Thomas Emil Pursch, age 83, of Troy Township, passed away at Burton Health Care Monday evening, Nov. 26, 2012.
He was born Dec. 16, 1928, in Cleveland, the son of Carl and Helen (Onysckiewicz) Pursch.
Mr. Pursch was a graduate of Troy High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954.
He was a resident of Troy since 1942, and was the owner of Pursch's Mini Mart in Troy Township for 30 years. He also was a self-employed truck driver for many years.
Mr. Pursch was a member of the Teamsters Union 407, The American Legion, loved to race stock cars and collected old cars and trucks. He was a lifetime mechanic in the area and one of the original founding members of the Troy Snowmobile Club.
He will be missed by his friends and family including his two sons, Thomas E. (Laurie) Pursch Jr. of Garrettsville and Robert Pursch of Troy Township; daughter, Katherine (Gary) Samuelson of Nebraska; grandchildren, Joseph and Joshua Samuelson; and stepgrandchildren, Shannon McClead and Kandice Lechene.
His wife of 16 years, Ethel Vinecourt, preceded him in death 1977.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Edward Catholic Church, 16150 Center St., Parkman. The Rev. John Burkley will officiate. Burial will take place in Troy Cemetery in Troy Township.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Russell Funeral Service, 15670 West High St. (Route 87), Middlefield.
