Funeral Mass for Thomas J. "Tall" Ackerman, 60, of Willoughby, will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 460 E. 321 St., Willowick.
Mr. Ackerman passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012, at his residence.
He was born July 28, 1951, in Cleveland.
He was a 1969 graduate of Eastlake North High School, a member of Acacia Country Club in Lyndhurst, and loved to golf. He was an avid golfer. Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, who will be deeply missed. He was a great friend and touched many, many people.
Tom worked as a builder and developer.
He was the loving husband of 34 years to Michelle L. "Micki" (Sendzik) Ackerman; cherished father of Kristin L. Ackerman and Kourtney L. (Joseph) Lester; devoted grandfather of Colin, Joey, Khloe and Lucas; beloved son of Alice M. (Kushan) Ackerman; dear brother of Dennis R. (Linda) Ackerman, Gary A. (Shelley) Ackerman, Pam A. Ackerman and Christine M. (Bill) Long; nephew of Goldie Kushan; and uncle of Jesse, Pat, Mike, Jeffrey and Danny.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard E. Ackerman; brother, Gregory D. Ackerman; uncle John Kushan, and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mike and Ida Sendzik
Friends may call from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Entombment will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
