Thomas J. Petronio Obituary
Thomas J. Petronio, 61, of Middlefield, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014 at UHHS Geauga Medical Center.
He was born on Aug. 31, 1952 in Maple Hts., son of Louis Anthony and Laurine (Tiley) Petronio.
After he graduated from Maple Hts. High School in 1970, he attended college a year and served in the U.S. Air Force, Sept. 1971-June 22, 1972 in Vietnam.
He was a retired Electrician and lived in this area 27 years.
Thomas was a Precinct Judge for Geauga County Board of Elections for 2 years. He was a member of the Geauga Umpires Assoc. where he was President for 4 years and umpired for 17 years. He was a friend to many and enjoyed being involved with sports at the Cardinal School district where he was a member of Cardinal School Board for 4 years and V.P. for one year; Cardinal Athletic Boosters for many years and President for 2 years; Cardinal Athletic Dept. clock operator and the voice of the Huskies at the events; and also the clock operator for 3 years at all the sporting events for NDCL Athletic Department. He also was a train enthusiast.
He will be missed dearly by his friends and family; his wife Bethann (Miller) Petronio, who he loved dearly for 27 years; his loving children, Elysia (Matthew) Brock, Thomas W. (Cassi) Petronio, James (Katie)Petronio, and Nicole Petronio; his grandchildren, Katelyn Mulquiny, Cannon and Makena Petronio, and Koraline Brock; his siblings, Marie (Joseph) Feko, Butch (Sheila Fannin)Petronio, and Alan (Sue Baurenfeind) Petronio; many nieces and nephews; also his beloved dogs, Lyndsey, Cassie, Rylee, and grand pup Mona Marie, and his neighbor dog, Shadow.
The Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014 at Russell Funeral Service, 15670 West High St. (Rt. 87), Middlefield.
Visitation is Saturday, 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Middlefield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, cards and gifts may be sent to the family at PO Box 1010, Chardon, Ohio.
