Thomas Leo ""Tom"" Moyle, 73, of Nutter Fort, W.Va., passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, Dec. 16, 2013.
He was born on June 21, 1940, in Clarksburg, W.Va., a son of the late Leo Jerome Moyle and Lorraine Watkins Moyle.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joann Webb Moyle whom he married Nov. 7, 1959.
Also surviving are one daughter, Kathy Shafer and husband Don of Bruceton Mills, W.Va.; two sons, Robert Charles Moyle of Parma, and James Patrick Moyle of Nutter Fort, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Scott Tartaglio, Philip Nicholas Tartaglio, Jamie Lynn Metheny and husband Jared, Amanda Marie Moyle, Robert Thomas Moyle, Brittany Reinking and Coty Mullner; four great-grandchildren, Thomas J. Metheny, Bradley J. Metheny, Mercedes Nicole Tartaglio and Olivia Magruder: seven siblings, Mary Nadvornik, Loretta Lippay, Elaine Shirkey and husband Frank and Larry Moyle and wife Sharon all of Ohio, Shelia Swiger and Edward Moyle both of Morgantown, W.Va., and Debbie Swartz and husband Matt of Clarksburg, W.Va.; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, ""Sam.""
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Raymond Moyle; two brothers, Robert Charles Moyle and William F. Moyle; and one sister, Theresa Moyle Collins.
Tom was a retired calibrator and union representative for Bailey Controls in Wickliffe for 35 years. After retirement he moved back home to West Virginia. Tom loved sports, especially the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Cavaliers and the WVU football team. He also loved the news, reading and politics. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandpa. Tom was loved by everyone. He knew no stranger and could make a friend with anyone. Tom will be missed, cherished and loved by everyone who knew him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 707 Third St., Stonewood, W.Va., with Father Kent Durig as celebrant.
Interment will follow at the Stonewall Park Cemetery in Stonewood, W.Va.
