Vera L. Johnson, 93, of Madison, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013, at Cardinal Woods Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Madison.
She was born Dec. 25, 1919, in Perry, to Floy (Penhollow) and Mark B. Johnson.
Vera worked at Lake East Hospital as ward secretary for more than 28 years before retiring in 1989. Vera was a lifetime member of Perry Christian Church. She was an active member of Happy Hookers and the Perry Senior Citizens and enjoyed baby-sitting.
She is survived by her sisters, Neva Sims of Mentor, Avelda Weber of Rossford and Jessie Sabo of Perry; brothers, Ben Johnson of Mentor, Charles Johnson of Perry and twin brother, Vaughn Johnson of Perry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Victor and Dale; and sister, Lois Kacur.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2013, at Perry Cemetery, 3840 Middle Ridge Road, Perry. Pastor Janet Mers will officiate.
