Funeral Mass for Vernon C. Hayward, 85, of Euclid, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at St. Mary Church, 401 North St., Chardon. (Please meet at the church.) Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
Mr. Hayward passed away Jan. 17, 2014, at Heather Hill Nursing Home.
Born June 17, 1928, in Wheeling, W.Va., he was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the Army Security Agency.
Survivors are his wife of 62 years, Mary Lou (nee Weisenseel); children, Linda (Greg) Barrow, Vernon L. (Susan) Hayward and Joan (Michael) Cihon; grandchildren, Sarah, Jacob, Elisabeth and Hannah Barrow, and Vernon J. (Amy), Matthew and Rebecca Hayward; and great-grandson, Jack Vernon Hayward.
Calling hours will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at Brickman Bros. Funeral Home, 37433 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, to be immediately followed by a remembrance service at 7 p.m.
