Services for William R. Haffa, 70, of Mentor, a lifetime Lake County resident will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville. Pastor Jason Tatterson from Freedom Assembly of God Church will officiate. The son of Kenneth and Eleanor (Palmer) Haffa was born Feb. 28, 1943, in Painesville
Mr. Haffa passed away suddenly June 19, 2013, at his home in Mentor. He was employed by Citco, where he worked as a machinist for 40 years, retiring in 2010. He was a member of Freedom Assembly of God Church in Painesville Township. Bill raced at Painesville Speedway and enjoyed hot rods, motorcycles, and fishing, but he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Colleen R. (Mosher) Haffa whom he married on Jan. 19, 1963; sons, Kenneth Haffa of Painesville and Joshua (Lori) Haffa of Williamsfield; daughters, Robin (Mario) Haffa and Lisa Haffa, both of Mentor; nine grandchildren; Rebecca, Taylor, Colin, Zoe, Zara, Gunnar, Grace, Gannon, and Gabrielle; great-grandchild, Coltyn; brothers, James Haffa of Leroy, Thomas Haffa of Mentor; and sisters, Dolly Stauffer of Georgia, Penny Rich of Painesville and Kathy Haffa-Wilt of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Painesville. Contributions may be made to the Hospice Western Reserve, 5786 Heisley Road, Mentor OH 44060.
