Robert G. Sharp, 71, of Chardon, died Feb. 11, 2014, at UH Geauga Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 19, 1942, in Cleveland, to Alvin and Elizabeth (nee Talarico) Sharp, he had been a longtime Chardon resident.
A retired carpenter, Robert's greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Carriger, whom he married Dec. 13, 1969, in Kirtland; daughters, Penny (Robert) Miner of North Bloomfield and Samantha (Stephen Bittner) Sharp of Mentor; son, Robert G. (Katie Heiden) Sharp Jr. of Chardon; grandchildren, Dominique Lanzone, Jeffrey Sharp, Tyler Weyandt, Amber and Austin Miner, Jessica and Breanna Sharp and Chloe Sharp; sister, Betty Kidder of Chardon; brothers, Alvin (Sue) of St. Cloud, Fla., and Richard (Vicki) of Maryland; and many extended family members.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Samuel.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St. (Route 44, 500 feet south of Route 6/Chardon Square), Chardon.
A memorial gathering will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at the funeral home.
