Geraldine B. "Gerrie" Perry Obituary
Geraldine B. "Gerrie" Perry, a 69-year resident of Mentor, passed away peacefully at home, Monday, Feb. 10, 2014.
Born July 3, 1921, in Cleveland, to the late George and Stella Brenner, she married the late Jack Perry Jan. 9, 1945.
Gerrie worked nearly 30 years with the Mentor Schools as a member of the cafeteria staff and as a dedicated bus driver.
Most recently, she was an active member of the Mentor Senior Center, playing cards weekly with her friends. In her lifetime, she enjoyed spending time at the family cottage, crocheting afghans, and traveling with family and friends. She was NASCAR's number one fan.
Gerrie is survived by her two children, James (Judy) Perry of Melbourne, Fla., and Cheryl Riddle of Mentor; and four grandchildren, James (Debbie) Perry of Palmer Township, Pa., Jonathan (Kristine) Perry of Lanoka Harbor, N.J., Kenny (Teressah) Stevens of Mentor and Erin K. Stevens of Seven Hills. She was proud to have six great-grandchildren, Brenna, Rhiannon, Aiden, Isabella, Sophia and Beatrice.
Graveside services will be held 9 a.m. Tuesday at Mentor Cemetery. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a future date.
The family suggests contributions be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
