Mary Louise Butler, 82, of Concord Township, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at Hospice House in Cleveland.
Born Nov. 16, 1931, in Geneva, Mrs. Butler had worshiped at Hope Ridge United Methodist Church in Concord Township for almost 50 years. She was a teaching assistant for over 23 years at the Hope Ridge Preschool. She volunteered at Homestead II in Painesville and was awarded a commendation for 25 years of service in 2010.
Mrs. Butler was an avid golfer and enjoyed league play at Blackbrook Golf Course. She also bowled in leagues at Rich Lanes in Fairport. Mary loved to work in her garden and play her beloved piano.
Survivors are her husband of 61 years, Jack M. Butler; children, James Butler of Wickliffe, Scott (Marie) Butler of Concord Township, Jack L. Butler of Westlake and Victoria Butler of Painesville; grandchildren, Rachel (Chris) Porostosky and Sarah Butler; and brother, Robert (Irene) Zito of Rocky River.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, James and Rose Zito; and brothers, James and Eugene Zito.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hope Ridge United Methodist Church, 9870 Johnnycake Ridge Road, Concord Township, OH 44077.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, and again from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the services Tuesday at the church.
