Edward J. Shan Obituary
Edward J. Shan, 98, of Madison, passed away Saturday morning, Feb. 22, 2014, at the Geneva Village Retirement Center.
Mr. Shan was born Sept. 25, 1915, in Cleveland, and later married Anne Stepsis.
Edward served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was stationed in the European Theatre as a medic. He worked for White Motors when he came home, and after 25 years of service, Ed retired. He then kept busy working for the Bole Family in Kirtland.
Edward was a member of Friends of Arcola Creek and the Madison VFW. He enjoyed fishing for salmon and trout, and also enjoyed drawing and painting.
Edward is survived by his son, James R. (Judy) Shan of Gates Mills; grandchildren, Lois, Donald, and James; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Henry Chryznowski of Euclid.
He was preceeded by his wife, Anne; son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Shirley Shan; parents; and brother, Stanley Shane.
Private family services will be observed.
