Ruth Marie Peterman, age 92, of Mentor, formerly of Glenshaw, Pa. passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014 at Emeritus of Mentor.|
She was the youngest of eight children born to George and Teresa Watkins of Etna, Pa. She married Glenn Peterman of Glenshaw on Nov. 27, 1941. They lived in Etna and then moved to Glenshaw in 1954. Ruth and Glenn raised two children and celebrated 59 years of marriage together before his death in December, 2000. They were members of Calvert Memorial Church in Etna.
Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a faithful caregiver for her husband and for several family members, inspiring others through her loving dedication.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Peterman of Glenshaw, Pa. and her son-in-law, Ronald Stump of Mentor.
She is survived by her two children, Margaret "Maggie" Stump of Mentor, and William "Bill" Peterman and his wife, Ruth, of Lake Bluff, Ill.; four grandchildren, Michael Stump and his wife, Traci, of Findlay, David Stump and his wife, Toni, of Henderson, Nev., Kenneth Stump and his wife, Michelle, of Medina, and Jenine Peterman of Berkeley, Calif.; and seven great-grandchildren, Hannah and Lydia Stump of Findlay, Gabriella and Briana Stump of Henderson, Nev., and Matt, Nick, and Kate Stump of Medina.
The family will receive friends at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lakeshore Assembly of God, 8880 Lakeshore Blvd, Mentor, followed by a luncheon at the church.
