Caroline L. Phillips (nee Chanaki), age 81, of Chardon, died March 19, 2014, at Hospice House, Euclid.
Born in Masontown, PA, on August 13, 1932, she lived in Euclid from 1964 until moving to Chardon in 2005. She worked in Purchasing for Merit Brass in Euclid for 15 years, retiring in 1999.
Caroline was a member of CFU Zumberak Lodge #859. She enjoyed her cultural background, crocheting, reading, being with friends, but most of all, she cherished the time she spent with her family.
She is survived by her children, Brian (Paula) Phillips of Dublin, Susan (Greg) Kuta of Munson Twp., and Janet Phillips of Chardon; grandchildren, Matthew and Colleen Phillips; step grandchildren, Gregory (Lisa) Kuta of Shaker Hts., and Chris (Abby) Kuta of Tampa, FL; and step great grandchildren, Eli, Maddy and Carter.
Her husband Stephen Phillips, whom she married in 1955, died in 2002. Her parents, Vincent and Bernice Chanaki; siblings Vincent, Rosella and Henry are also deceased.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 22, at 10:00 at the Church of St. Mary, 401 North Street, Chardon. The family will receive friends Friday, 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St. (On Rt. 44, 500' south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon.
