Stephen J. Koval, 84, of Willowick, died Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Hospice House in Cleveland.
He was born May 5, 1929 in Beaverdale, Pa. He had lived in Willowick for 46 years.
Mr. Koval served in the U.S. Army during the
. He was the former treasurer at Man-Gill Chemical Co. He was a member of the Beaverdale Legion, Windermere Knights of Columbus, an usher at St. Stephen's, and had served as a past president of the St. Stephen's Holy Name.
He is survived by his children, Mary Frances (Kevin) Alabise, Stephen (Anna Marie) Koval and Andrew (Donna) Koval; grandchildren, Toni, Kira, Stephanie, Carly, Anthony and Nicholas; sisters, Margaret Zmuda, Susan DiMotta and Agnes Mihalko; and his beloved best friend Elaine Patterson-Koval.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie T. Koval; parents, Stephen and Helen Koval; and siblings, Michael, Mary, Ann and Helen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at St. Stephen's Byzantine Catholic Church, 532 Lloyd Rd., Euclid. Please meet at the church Tuesday morning where family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery, Chardon Twp.
Family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations in Stephen's memory to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110-9915.
