Walter C. "Skip" King, age 84, of Willoughby for the past 20 years, formerly of Cleveland, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Lake West Medical Center, Willoughby.
He was born Dec. 25, 1929 in Jefferson, Pa.
Survivors include his children, William (Pat) King of Garrettsville, Dodie (Jim) Doran of Painesville, Tom (Marilyn) King of Painesville, Dan (Sally) King of Concord, and Frank (Lynn) King of Brecksville; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and his beloved sister, Dorothy Kroll of Palmyra, Pa.
Preceding Walter in death is his cherished daughter, Kathy King; parents, James and Margaret King; sister, Annabelle White; and brother, Harry King.
He was a truck driver for Teamsters Local #407 for 30 years until his retirement. He was a graduate of Dunmore High School class of 1946. A gifted athlete as a young man, he continued to be an avid sports fan throughout his life. He loved sharing stories, tending to his garden, and being a grandpa.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
