William Anthony Skufca (Skufza), 80, of Willoughby passed away on March 31, 2014, with his son, Stephen at his side.
He was born April 13, 1933, in Cleveland, to Alois and Stephanie Hoeferle, immigrants from Langenthon-Gottschee-Austria, both deceased.
Bill enjoyed fishing, softball, gardening and Notre Dame football. He was very proud of his Austrian German Heritage, but even more proud to serve his country aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ticonderoga CVA-14 as a crash crew specialist during the Korean War. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle. "Ich Lieb dich me in Vater".
He is survived by his son, Stephen (Kelly); grandsons, Logan Alexander and Troy Alois; his siblings, Frank (Angie) and Loretta.
Bill was predeceased by his wife of over 25 years, Joann (Zaharansky); and his siblings, Lou, Joseph, Walter, and Albert.
Private Family Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery. Service will be 6 p.m. Thursday April 3, 2014, at Monreal funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Monreal Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake.
