1942 - 2014 | Obituary Condolences
Robert J. Wolff, 71, of Mentor, passed away on April 9, 2014 at Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby.
He was born April 11, 1942 in Cleveland, the son of the late Robert J. and Helen (nee Salzer) Wolff. He had been a Lake County resident for 48 years, living in Wickliffe and Mentor.
Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He volunteered at Lake West Medical Center in the Cardiac Rehab Unit. He was a member of St. John Vianney Church, a member of the Finance Council and St. John Vianney small community group. Automobiles were his passion. He loved cars, and he shared his passion for cars with his grandchildren.
He was the beloved husband of 47 years to Lorraine H. Wolff (nee Hoehn); the loving father of Suzanne (Robert) Powell and Robert E. (Melissa) Wolff; the cherished grandfather of Kirsten, Aubrey, Ava, Ryan and Alyssa; brother of Donna (Bill) Nielsen, Karen (Bill) Donovan, Judy (Ted) Lisk, and Paul Wolff. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, James Wolff and Mark Wolff.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014 at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Rd., Mentor. Fr. Tom Johns will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Rt. 615, north of Rt. 2), Mentor. Interment will be in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
