Funeral services for James Spicer, age 67, will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 2, at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville. Friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to services.
A Madison resident, James was born on December 21, 1946, in Bedford, PA. He passed away on April 26, 2014, at the Louis B. Stokes Veterans Medical Center in Wade Park. James served with the U.S. Marine Corps. Participating in the Viet-Nam War where he received a purple heart for injuries he sustained.
Jim was a member of V.F.W. Post 7754 in Fairport Harbor
He is survived by his children, Michele (Jeff) Lanman of Circleville, Kari Vohnout of Cleveland, Jeff Spicer of Cleveland, and Melissa (Matt) Meinhart of Westerville; 9 grandchildren; brothers, Jeff Spicer of Pompano Beach, FL, and Joe Spicer of Madison.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Flora (Shaab) Spicer; brother, Barry Spicer; and sister, Glenda Grozde.
Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.
