Funeral services for Louella Pearl Platzar, 82, of Willoughby Hills, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. (Located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home in Willoughby.)
Mrs. Platzar passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014, at Richmond Medical Center in Richmond Heights.
Born Aug. 10, 1931, in Grantsville, W.Va., she had been a resident of Willoughby Hills for 64 years.
She loved pets, especially dogs and cats, and was a member of the S.P.C.A.
She was the beloved wife of 67 years to Edward L. Platzar of Willoughby Hills; loving mother of Frank L. (Wendy) Platzar of Willoughby and Thomas L. Platzar of Willoughby Hills; cherished grandmother of Lisa (Dave) Yerse, Dan (Jill), Christian (Meggen), Mark and Derrick; great-grandmother of Michaela, Bailey, Brenna, Kylie, Cora, Mack, Georgia and Kiera; and aunt of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Branson and Cora Mae (nee Snider) Holbert; and siblings, Blaine, Lucille, Dale, Donald and Alvin Holbert.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at The Abbey of Willoughby. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
