Blaine Kaufman, 78, of Burton Twp., formerly of Newbury Twp., died on Wednesday morning, surrounded by his loving family.
Blaine was born in Cleveland, on Nov. 3, 1935, and was a life-long resident of Newbury.
He was a graduate of Newbury High School, and then served in the US Army from 1955 to 1957. Blaine planned and developed the Newbury Industrial Park, was the owner of Newbury Sand and Gravel, the Pine View Dairy Farm, and a partner in the Berkshire Industrial Park.
His survivors include his wife of 34 years, Janet (nee Shurman) of Burton Twp.; four daughters, Debbie (the late Robert Jr.) Skidmore of Jensen Beach, Fla., Wendy Hallstrom of Middlefield Village, Patricia (Matt) Tucek of Burton Twp., and Julie (Tim) Munn of Burton Village; son, Gary (Sharon Catley) of Auburn Twp.; 14 Grandchildren and three Great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Blaine and Shylo (nee Miller) Kaufman; and grandson, Bobby Skidmore.
Funeral Services will be Wed., May 21 at 10 a.m. at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St. (On Rt. 44, 500' south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square), Chardon.
Visitation will be Tues. May 20 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and Wed. from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
