Dorothy Mae Busse, age 90, a homemaker, of Newbury, died May 18, 2014, of natural causes.
She was born May 22, 1923, in Fullertown, to David and Laura (nee Thorpe) Dines, she had been a lifelong Newbury Township resident.
Dorothy was a 21 year volunteer at the Geauga County Senior Center, specializing in leading line dancing and the senior dances. Along with her husband Joe, she was voted Senior of the Year. She also volunteered at Geauga Community Hospital for 14 years starting in 1985. Dorothy was very optimistic and loved life.
Survivors include her son, Carl (Ann) of Newbury; daughters, Kathleen (Don) Frost of Harrah, Okla., and Martha (Robert) Jones of Norco, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and her second husband, Joseph Monaco.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl Busse; son, Thomas; daughter, Jeanne Gray; brother, Raymond Dines; and sisters, Marjorie Felberg and Vivian Steinhoff.
Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South Street (On Rt. 44, 500' south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Chardon. Burial will follow at Newbury Center Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m Friday at the funeral home.
