Virginia Hitchcock- Mumea J. Hitchcock- Mumea Obituary
Virginia J. Hitchcock- Mumea, age 95 of Madison, passed away Saturday,
May 24, 2014, at Heartland of Mentor.
She was born June 15, 1918, in Willoughby, she was the daughter of Amie R. (Sprague) & William R. Jenkins. She married Nicholas Mumea on September 4, 2002.
Virginia was a caregiver for the elderly. She was an active member of Here's Hope Baptist Church. Virginia loved gardening and taking care of her flowers.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Zola of Mentor; sons, Richard L. Williams of Andover, William Williams of Painesville, David K. (Holly) Hitchcock of Shaker Heights; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; seven great-great-great-grandchildren; step-daughters, Delores Globic of Willoughby Hills, Charlene (Robert) Sours of Madisonville, Tenn.; brother, Charles Jenkins of Madison; and sisters, Charlotte Conger of Willoughby, Leonora Damm of Mentor, Genevieve Hounshell of Mentor and Amie Bregitzer of Mentor-on-the-Lake.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dillard K. Hitchcock; second husband, Nicholas Mumea; daughter, Charmaine Cefaratti; sister, Iva Egleston; and brothers, Alfred, Robert & Earl Jenkins.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 30, 2014, at The Behm
Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street, Madison, OH 44057.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Fairview Cemetery on River Street in Madison Village.
