Betty Jo Stone Dennison

Obituary Condolences

Betty Jo Stone Dennison, a longtime Willoughby resident, passed away June 2, 2014, at home surrounded by her loving family. She joined her beloved husband, Flavius "Denny" Dennison, who predeceased her.
She is survived by her children, Carol Ann Abad (Achour), Rodney Dennison and John Dennison (Laura); grandchildren, Samantha, Salem, Nabil, Hisham, Sara, Melissa (Bailey) MacKnight, Greg, Joseph and Jack; and brother, Richard Stone.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings Dale, Mary Elizabeth, James, Scott, Rebecca, Jack and Patricia Ann.
A member of Mentor United Methodist Church, Betty taught at Eastlake Jr. High, coached girls' sports, counseled families at Glenbeigh Hospital, served as a friend and confidante to troubled teens, raised money for March of Dimes, and unconditionally loved everyone she knew. She was loved by all in return.
A tireless worker, she never allowed herself more than a few moments of rest before taking on an unending list of tasks. Even after a stroke left her disabled and partially paralyzed, she refused to give up. Her inner strength and determination set an example for all who knew her.
"Betty may no longer be here in this world, but the moments she shared with others will forever echo in our hearts. She is already missed."
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 9, in The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave., Willoughby (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), where funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Burial at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her name be made to Grace Hospice, 7314 Industrial Park Blvd., Mentor, OH 44060.
