Funeral Mass for Agnes E. Newman (nee DiFiore), 91, of Willoughby will be
10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave, Willoughby. Father Chris Weber will officiate at the Mass.
Mrs. Newman passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Hts.
Born Oct. 1, 1922, in Cleveland, she was a Lake County resident for 58 years, living in Wickliffe and Willoughby.
Agnes graduated from East High School, Class of 1942, and attended Lakeland College for Business Law; and also studied real estate. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Willoughby, an avid seamstress, a cook for a small family catering company known as Ship and Shore Catering, a Girl Scout leader, member of Fine Arts Women's Club, a piano player and bowler, and also liked listening to the Willoughby Outdoor Concert Series every summer.
She was the former comptroller of Parker-Hannifin and the owner of her own milliner's shop.
Mom was a caring and loving person, a great friend, always the one to look to for her good taste in clothes and always the one to go to to listen with a kind ear and helpful presence.
She was the loving mother of Margaret Ann (Richard) Newman-Teubl of Willoughby; cherished grandmother of Brian N. (Emily) Teubl and Craig N. Teubl; sister of Joseph (JoAnn) DiFiore and Albert (Rosemary) DiFiore; and aunt of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, John E. Newman in 2004; parents, Ben and Michelina (nee Abate) DiFiore; and brother, Vincent DiFiore.
Family will receive friends at the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday. Entombment at All Souls Cemetery, Chardon Township.
